Why Green Media Awards?
The motivation is to promote and sustain media coverage on the environment in Malawi and accelerate the agenda for sustainable utilization of Malawi’s natural resources.

  Eligibility
All journalists practising in Malawi are eligible to apply, however, AEJ members will have an added advantage. Each Journalist is eligible to submit a minimum of two stories per category for a maximum of three categories.

  Language
The jury will entertain materials in English and Chichewa only.

Agriculture (nutrition, irrigation e.t.c), Best blogger / On-line journalists, Climate Change, Disaster Risk Reduction, Energy, Forestry, Green Media House of the year, Mining, The Green Documentary, The Green Investigative/Accountability award, The Green Photojournalist of the year, Waste Management and Pollution, Water and Sanitation, Wildlife,

Puma Energy Donates One Million Kwacha To Aej

Officials of Puma Energy are pledging continued support towards initiatives by the Association of Environmental Journalists-AEJ.

Puma Energy has since donated One Million Kwacha towards the Annual General Meeting of AEJ set for this week, from the 11th to 13th April at Victoria hotel in Blantyre.

The event will comprise training sessions for AEJ members, presentation of Green Media Awards on Friday night and a Sustainable Development Goals-SDG walk on Saturday.

Speaking during the presentation of the financial donation on Friday in Blantyre, Puma Energy Retail Operations Manager Mtonthozeni Kachitsa commended AEJ for championing environmental reporting in the country.

“Puma Energy will continue supporting initiatives aimed at conserving the environment and AEJ is doing a commendable work through coverage of environmental issues” said Kachitsa.

AEJ Board Member Moses Michael Phiri hailed Puma Energy for the support.

Phiri said “We appreciate the partnership we have with Puma Energy which has been supporting us in various initiatives including the tree planting exercise”.

He added that the financial support will help AEJ to meet logistical requirements for the AGM which attracts members from across the country.
